Welcome to Lions Spring 2025 Season!

Options for Spring 2025 include:

Local play for boys and girls K-8th grade. Players 3rd-8th grade will play games on Sundays, while our Little Laxers (K-2) will practice and scrimmage during the week.
Additionally, boys 6-8th grade will have the option to play Saturdays in St. Louis with the St. Louis Youth Lacrosse Association (SLYLA) League play (more info below).
Little Laxers can register for a single 4 week session or both sessions (8 weeks total) in advance - if you later decide to add on session 2 let us know and we can get you registered!

Important Dates

Practices: Tues/Thurs, 6p-7:30p (3rd-8th) and 6-7p (K-2) @ Gans Creek Rec Area

Games: Sundays @ Cosmo Park Field FB-5 (3/16-5/18; no games 3/23 or 4/20)

Girls: 1-2:30p
Boys 3/4: 2:45-3:30p
Boys 5/6: 3:45-4:45p
Boys 7/8: 5-6p
SLYLA - Saturday afternoons - dates listed on website; game times will be available end of March

Week Zero Open House (1hr): Come pick-up rented gear, jerseys, and visit with coaches, league management and parents (new and old) to get any questions you may have answered! Sunday, March 9th, 2025, 2-3 pm, Cosmo Park Concessions Pavilion near field C-7

First Practice 3rd-8th: Tuesday, March 11
First Game 3rd-8th: Sunday, March 16

Last Game: May 18th for girls and 3rd-6th boys, May 20th (night game) 7th/8th grade boys

Little Laxers (K-2) Session 1: April 1 - April 24
Little Laxers (K-2) Session 2: April 29 - May 22

Gear Rental

Columbia Youth Lacrosse has a convenient gear rental program.
For girls, stick and goggles to use throughout the season are provided free of charge through a grant award.
For boys, players can be fully equipped for $50 per season. Additionally, new this year, an option will be offered to buy a gear package from Ultimate Lacrosse in St. Louis at below retail prices (https://ultimatelacrosse.com/) - helmet and pads for $225 (+$40 for stick). More information will be provided via email if you are interested.

SLYLA FAQs

What is SLYLA?

SLYLA (St. Louis Youth Lacrosse Association) provides additional competitive playing opportunities for youth lacrosse players in our organization. This league is designed for players who want to go beyond recreational lacrosse and compete at a higher level.

By registering for SLYLA, you are committing to playing in both:

St. Louis League Games – Held on Saturdays
Columbia Youth Lacrosse Games – Held on Sundays

The extra cost covers league fees for St. Louis, coach travel expenses, and coach stipends. Carpool options will be available each Saturday for convenience/travel.

SLYLA

I’m interested but can’t commit to traveling every weekend. Is there an à la carte option?

SLYLA requires a full-season commitment due to budget and planning constraints. However, if the team needs additional players for certain games, non-SLYLA players may be invited to fill in on a per-game basis. These players will be required to pay a per-game fee to participate, however if cost is a barrier please reach out to discuss options!
